Lac La Biche Farmer’s Market

For those wanting more home-grown flavor, a trip to the Farmer’s Market will satisfy your taste-buds, offering visitors everything from garden-grown to carvings and embroidery.

The Farmer’s Market is held weekly at the Lakeland Agricom (on the Arthur and Anita Cadieux Ag Grounds) just east of the Lac La Biche County Rural Office along HWY 881 By-Pass. For complete directions, check out our map.

Come and check out the homemade goodies such as: homemade preserves, desserts, breads, selection of meats, fresh flowers, crafts and much, much more! There really is something for everyone at the Farmer’s Market. We look forward to seeing you there!

Plamondon Farmer’s Market

Every Saturday throughout the summer the community of Plamondon puts on a market that includes garage sale items as well as home grown, made or baked items! This market happens from 10am to 2pm every Saturday at the Philip Menard Cultural Centre in Plamondon! You can enjoy some fresh vegetables, local honey, homemade baked goods, fresh squeezed orange juice, handmade goods, home businesses as well as the Feed Fresh Box!

So come on out and enjoy the great people and great finds at this community market!

Weekly on Saturdays, from 10:00am – 2:00pm (Starting the 3rd Saturday of June to early of September)

Shady Lane Berry Farm

Located 2km East of Lac La Biche on Highway 881, Shady Lane Berry Farm offers a wide range of certified organic produce. They have a variety of fruits (Junebearing Strawberries, Day Neutral Strawberries, Raspberries, Saskatoon Berries, Apples, Evans Cherries, Pumpkin, Sour Cherries, Haskap, and Seabuckthorn); vegetables (Beans, Beets, Carrots, Corn, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Mixed, Onions, Peas, Potatoes, Radishes, Summer Squash, Tomatoes, and Winter Squash); as well as herbs and some value-added products. 

UPickGuests are welcome to the farm to assist in weeding, picking, and eating! For the U-Pick, no appointment is necessary, but if you are travelling in large groups please be advised there may be a wait as the field can only have so many pickers on it at once. Pre-picked and custom orders can be made, please call for additional information.

If you’re not able to come to the farm, Shady Lane Berry Farm attends the weekly Lac La Biche Farmer’s Market (Fridays) at the Arthur & Anita Cadieux Ag Grounds and throughout the summer the Callingwood Market in Edmonton (69 Avenue & 178 Street, on Sundays).

Shady Lane Berry Farm will has participated in the provincial-wide Alberta Farm Days inviting guests to a culinary experience and a day at their farm. Be sure to check for this and other participating farms for this summer!

Sand Springs Ranch

Located 45km North of Lac La Biche on Highway 858, Sand Springs Ranch’s “farm share program” provides community access on a weekly basis to all of their organic vegetables and farm products. Offering a variety of “Simply Natural” summer/fall season of Certified Organic Produce from their family to yours. Sand Springs Ranch offers delivery each Friday in Lac La Biche (pick up spots to be determined) and participate in the weekly Lac La Biche Farmer’s Market (Fridays) at the Arthur & Anita Cadieux Ag Grounds.

Saskatoonville U-Pick / Orchard Fresh Syrups

Picture With a 100% Natural orchard, Saskatoonville uses many of their saskatoons, chokecherries, raspberries, and apples from their 14 acre orchard to create their fine Alberta-made Orchard Fresh Syrups. Participating in several farmers markets across the province, Orchard Fresh Syrups can be purchased all around Alberta and they also open their gates to welcome visitors to their orchard for their U-Pick season too! With a focus on high quality berry fruit, their syrups and vinegars are top of the line production.

Fat Unicorn Brewery

LogoWith the owner and brewers originally from the Lac La Biche region, the brewery is located at a ranch in the Lac La Biche County approx. 5 km south of Plamondon. The brewery is a destination brewery with a tasting room, gift shop and Growler fill bar. As Fat Unicorn Brewery is still quite new, they are beginning to plan events at their venue and hope to host scheduled Brew Master Diner’s throughout the year. Currently, their tasting room is for scheduled event only – but they are happy to try accomodate tours/tastings if you would like to book in advance.

EZee’s Greenhouse

IMG_6984Located 4.5km south of Hylo not far down a gravel road from Secondary HWY 663, this country-side greenhouse is a new addition to the local growers markets that are in the Lac La Biche Region. Offering a variety of their favourite flowers and garden plants, the growers are happy to bring in new varieties of plants from fig trees to habanero peppers to help locals expand their own growing tastebuds. The greenhouse welcomes guests everyday of the week during the growing season from Monday – Sunday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm. As the season gets later, the hours may adjust.

Jasmines Greenhouse

IMG_6891Specializing in hanging basket arrangements, Jasmine’s Greenhouse is a staple greenhouse in the Lac La Biche region, being in business for over 10 years. With a green-thumb, their greenhouses have an abundance of beautiful flowers is full blooms that just wandering to spend time and take in the beauty is easily inspirational to prospect green-thumbs to take home a few flowers to decorate their own yards.

Jasmines Greenhouse is located in Lac La Biche West only a few kilometers from the hamlet and is open 9:00 am- 9:00 pm every day of the week in the spring and summer months.
