Lac La Biche Region » MEET THE COMMUNITY



Lac La Biche region is located in the scenic area of northeast Alberta. With a mix of oil and gas, forestry and agriculture as well as an abundance of recreational and cultural amenities, the region provides opportunities and a lot of fun for the whole family in an area rich in cultural diversity and heritage.

The region is composed of several communities in Lac La Biche County, which includes the hamlets of Lac La Biche, Plamondon, Hylo, Venice, Owl River, Rich Lake, Fork Lake, and many other rural lake developments. Outside of the county, the region also includes the areas of Beaver Lake Cree Nation, Heart Lake First Nation, Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, and Kikino Metis Settlement. In all, the estimated population of the region is 15,121.
