Lac La Biche Region’s Scouts, Cubs, & Beavers – Meagan, Dominic, Leanne, Adam, Zoe, Tialandis, Sakastew, Aywastin, David, Caleb, Shaye, Hannah, and Sienna – worked hard on this year’s Pow Wow Parade float and what a spectacular job they did! Their float represents their travels across Canada from coast to coast through mountains, prairies, forests, and lakes.
Contributions and in-kind donations from local businesses helped send 11 Scouts and 4 leaders from our region to CJ’17 – the Canadian Scout Jamboree 2017. The Jamboree is one of the largest scouting events and is an experience of a lifetime! It took place in July at Camp Nadooae near Halifax, Nova Scotia and hosted thousands of Scouts from all over Canada and the world!
While there, Scouts participated in programs and activities that included archery, French Mountain Mud-sliding “Mudooae”, Tir nan Gailheal Highland Games, cannon and catapult building, hiking, treasure hunts, Mountain BMX riding, Water Olympics, paddling and rowing, drone flying, and much, much more! What a time to be a Scout!
