Looking out the small window of the log cabin, Adrian Hope would marvel at the pristine beauty of Whitefish Lake. His vision was to share the incredible view and develop a resort. Adrian knew there was a great potential for tourism but most of all, wanted the people of the Kikino Metis Settlement to reap economic benefits from the land. Adrian’s vision became a reality in 1985 with the grand opening of the Adrian Hope Silver Birch Resort and Campground.
Silver Birch Resort is a campground located in Kikino Metis Settlement just off highway 36. Back in 1985, Adrian Hope donated the area to the Metis Settlement.
When David and Shirley Thompson took over managing the campground there was 6 cabins, 30 seasonal stalls, and 30 camp stalls. Today there are 11 cabins and almost 215 stalls for year round campers. You will also find token operated services like showers and laundry.
Silver Birch boasts more than just incredible natural views! They host numerous events including: quad rallies in May and September, the now famous Kikino Rodeo, triathlons where entrants canoe, run, and then ride a horse, mud bogs, family fun day, weddings, family reunions, and retreats! Unlike other campgrounds, ATV’s are allowed. Book your summer spot at Silver Birch: 780-623-3252.
