Located off Highway 55, 30 kilometres west of Lac La Biche, the hamlet of over 300 people serves as a service centre for the surrounding agricultural community. Plamondon has an active retail trade and recreational, cultural and educational services. The community boasts two ECS to Grade 12 schools, Ecole Plamondon School, offering classes in English, French immersion and Russian, and Ecole Beausejour, a francophone school part of the East Central Francophone Education no. 3 school division.

Plamondon contains a lot of unique cultural history which you can see at a small museum in the hamlet itself. The Plamondon Museum is full of artifacts, antique instruments, and much more.

Plamondon hosts a variety of cultural and historical events throughout the year that are packed full of fun, activities, and musical entertainment! Be sure to check out the Plamondon Mud Bogs for a fun, down & dirty experience in late August. The community has a full range of services available from a grocery store, banking insitution, schools, and other essential business service providers.
